NanEd Project: The future of electron Crystallography |
Codex International, together with other industrials (AstraZeneca, BASF…) and European Labs ( Stockholm Univ, CNRS, ITT, Gutenberg Univ, ULM...) has been selected as a key partner to deploy the NanEd project funded by the EU.
The NanEd project is an Innovative Training Network, aiming to train a new generation of electron crystallographers thereby paving the way for future development and establishment of the method more broadly in the academic community and within the industry...

Graphene thin film transistors: Cutting down costs |
Thin film transistors (TFTs) made of carbon-based materials such as graphene are expected to transform many technological applications. In the detection of biomolecules and biological signals in cells, for example, their high flexibility facilitates measurements of three-dimensional structures, while their high transparency enhances optical observations. Current methods for the fabrication of graphene-based TFTs, however, are expensive and inefficient.

Energetic ferroelectrics |
Chemical energy is a term for the energy stored in the covalent bonds that are holding atoms together in the form of molecules. So-called energetic materials store a large amount of chemical energy that can be converted into mechanical energy. Energetic materials in the form of molecular crystals constructed by the C–N, N–N, and N–O bonds store chemical energy, while their strong electron–phonon coupling interactions promise high-energy density through thermal waves.

Impurities enhance the performance of perovskite solar cells |
The development of perovskite solar cells, first reported in 2009, is a possible route towards high efficiency photovoltaics that are also cost-effectiveness, owing to to their easy-processing from solution. They absorb light across almost all visible wavelengths, they have exceptional power conversion efficiencies exceeding 20% in the lab, and they are relatively easy to fabricate. Question marks have however... |
